Bio
Anita M. DeCarlo grew up in Chicago watching her father fight to secure workers’ compensation benefits for his clients. Following his model, she has become a leader in the profession. As a Senior Attorney, she handles intake for personal injury and workers’ compensation claims and manages her own cases. She is also active in the professional development of other attorneys and the welfare of her community. Currently, she is serving as Vice Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section Council of the ISBA, where she has been a member since 1998. Anita is the General Counsel for the Italian-American Veterans Museum. She has served as President and continues to serve on the Executive Committee of the Justinian Society of Lawyers. She served on the Board of Governors and the Assembly of the Illinois State Bar Association. Additionally, she is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association. Anita received The John Marshall Law School Distinguished Service Award after serving on the alumni board. She has been recognized in Super Lawyers as an Illinois Rising Star.
She graduated from The John Marshall Law School and earned her undergraduate degree from Loyola University, Chicago. Anita became fluent in Spanish while attending the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain, in her Junior year.
