The Chicago District Golf Association established the CDGA Foundation as its charitable organization in 1944. The Foundation’s initial purpose was to provide assistance to veterans returning home from World War II. For 81 years, the Foundation has continued to utilize the therapeutic aspects of the game of golf to support veterans. In recent years, outreach initiatives have expanded to include programs for young golfers – through Youth on Course – and individuals with disabilities – through adaptive golf experiences.
Homewood Science Center is a nonprofit community science center founded in 2016 to serve Chicago’s culturally and economically diverse south suburbs. Our mission is to inspire scientific wonder, learning, and pursuit. We work with families, educators, STEM professionals, and partner organizations to increase STEM interest and understanding, so all area students can gain the skills and confidence they need to fully enjoy and contribute to the civic and commercial vibrancy of our region.
